POP UP IN THE HAMPTONS

My first Retail & Food Experience in THE HAMPTONS!

How to nail it in the Hampton’s

When I got back to Europe my European girlfriends kept asking ” how would you describe the style of people in The Hamptons? What is the vibe like?”

I replied ‘ laid back & chic’. The Hamptons “chick” can be wearing the latest designer sweatpants and look fabulous. Her hair will be perfectly brushed and her make up will be perfectly made up to a ‘T’. Let’s not forget the perfect toned figure they achieved through ‘ SOUL CYCLE’. You never know what to expect once they walk into my “popup” boutique and ask for the chicest dress I will have in stock. To give you an example, one of my best seller, a beautiful silk and cotton dress by Amelia Toro. The Hamptons “lady” appreciates quality coming from abroad, they are looking for something unique and fresh to spark up their wardrobe and go to the races of course!

Below the stylish Alina Cho wearing one of my favorite dresses by Amelia Toro and a Yosuzi hat top it all up. Love the combo.

In the picture below you will see one of my favourite outfits by OSMAN– Now were talking “chic with a twist”. I sound a little ridiculous always using the word “chic” but if an outfit doesn’t start with “chic” I am just not interested. Osman, a UK based designer in London, truly surprised me with his beautiful mixed printed  silks and amazing structured jumpsuits. You could totally wear some of his pieces to walk around town and look fabulous as well as to a diner with friends and make all the women envy you on how you managed to pull off the OSMAN look. If you decide to wear OSMAN you need to own it and “talk the talk” and “walk the walk”.

Fashion & Lobster

Fashion & Lobster my two favorite words!Fashion & Food come  hand in hand. The Hamptons is very famous for its lobster roll and I must say they are the best! One of my favorite latest secret discoveries is called Duryea’s Lobster Deck which is all the way in Montauk. They have the best sea food and best view. I had probably one of my best meals during this trip.IMG_8046

Another place I do recommend is a snackbar called The Dock House. Very laid-back “dock house” where you can eat the best crab cakes and scallops. I do recommend the ‘crab cakes’.

Another one of my favorite places in The Hampton’s is called Sunset Beach on shelter island. Trendy place to go for drinks and discover the latest band around a cosy bomb fire and an amazing mojito 🙂

My special collaboration with Mecox Gardens.

Last but not least, I must say that I was extremely privileged to have been able to collaborate with the most fantastic interior design store in East Hamptons called Mecox Gardens. There you will find your dream furniture for your dream house. You can’t get more Hampton’s than at Mecox, they nailed to a T. I felt on holiday everyday being in that store and of course wanted to buy everything. http://mecox.com/about-mecox/mecox-blog/mecox-east-hampton-hosts-hamptons-pop-up. Click on this link to find more about our collaboration and the brands I decided to showcase together with my US partner Michelle Taschjian.

Interior Design & Fashion.

Mixing interior design and fashion enabled me to showcase my brands in a very curated manner allowing the consumer to enjoy a unique shopping experience. It was great to see how the women in The Hampton’s were so enthusiastic about discovering new designers and appreciating the story behind them. You could find, Osman evening wear from London, Mitos swimwear from Greece, cover-ups from We Are LEONE, and a resort brand from Marie France Van Damme, handmade Spanish espadrilles from Manebi, basket bags from Sicily, and really funky cool clutches—“like the kind you would expect to see in Capri.”
